Concrete Septic Tanks and Grease Traps

Installation of Concrete Septic Tanks

Do I need an Injection Molded Plastic Tank or a Concrete Tank?

Both types of tanks are state approved though worlds apart in material types used. Both are very strong and durable. A Concrete tank is heavy, weighing 8,000 lbs plus requiring a boom truck to deliver it to your site. Ask yourself, can a truck weighing 40,000 lbs easily get to your excavation site? Concrete tanks are 5% - 10% cheaper as a general rule.

Plastic tanks weigh only 500 lbs and can be transported easily with a pickup truck or a small trailer. A mini-excavator or backhoe can set a plastic tank in place quickly and with little effort. Plastic tanks are also ideal for steep or tight locations such as lake-front lots and backyards with trees, shrubbery, etc.. DIY'ers installing their own septic systems in the evening or on the weekend find plastic tanks very convenient.
